Current status: the draft I-D was submitted for community review on the 
ietf-types at iana.org list, as per the official process, and got through 
unscathed (see 
http://www.alvestrand.no/pipermail/ietf-types/2006-June/001760.html
for the brief thread).  Next up is to submit it for publication.
