[Playlist] XSPF support status Some good news

The new VLC (0.8.5) finally supports XSPF playback, and apparently exporting as well. I just noticed it now, so I haven't run any test with it. Other people's tests would be interesting if anyone bothers to post results in this list.
The following quote from their forum is also very positive:
"The problem is that M3U files don't have any KNOWN charset. So basically VLC assumes a certain charset (i guess UTF-Cool, while actually the charset is latin-1.
This is what you get when people make bad designs for storing text.
VLC will soon feature a XSPF playlistformat that is much more suited for internationalized environments."

On other news, no one seems interested at doing a foobar2000 component that can work with XSPF. At least for now. Interestingly enough, someone at the foobar forums explains how to create an XSPF playlist using one of foobar's components.
