I like it, but I don't like the color scheme of the XSPF letters.  It
looks like a bad banner advertisement, one that will clash with the
colors on most web sites.

One experiment that I think would be useful is to go to web sites that
are considered to be well-designed, view the HTML source, and insert
this graphic somewhere into it.  Does it fit aesthetically in the
resulting page?  The answer should be yes, most of the time.

Also, why not make the background transparent instead of white?
