Lucas et all,

I think this question is something that we will see being asked a lot
more the coming year. As there seem to be more and more people asking
for website interoperability on different levels there are initiaves
starting up to fullfil this wish. Among these are for instance the
people from OpenID as well as certains media sites allowing you to
crosspost to other websites such as Blip.tv does with Archive.org.

The issue with XSPF is that I belief that a lot of people don't see the
difference or advantages of using xspf instead of rss or atom. I think
we can change this by making the extensions that have been floating on
this list more publicly available including the applications using these
extensions.

Personally, I belief that the extensibility of xspf is its strongest
advantage over other formats so that the interoperability aspect of xspf
does not stand in the way of innovation and can actually be used to
the interoperability.
