At least speaking for Gentoo Linux, I don't know any xiph product we do
not support. Or am I missing something more you mean by not caring?
Anyway, libspiff is part of the official Gentoo tree for some weeks,
living in an overlay maintained by myself for some time before.
Also, PEAR-File_XSPF is part of Gentoo already.

libspiff compiles at least on x86 and amd64 in Gentoo.
