It has a point, anyway... :-)

I guess we have to start testing and reviewing
XSPF implementations in the wild and actively
help improving them. VLC for example creates
XSPF files with non-URI locations!

Maybe we should make a battle plan with software
we will have a closer look at and software that
we still have to bring XSPF to. I haven't checked
Rhythmbox for a while but I believe that one was
one of the latter for instance.
